Beloved Brother: The Biography of Will "Sonny" Sampson

Redstick Gallery

Regular price $10.00

Norma Sampson Bible shares a story about the one person who means so much to so many -- his relatives, friends, children, and grandchildren. This person is her famous brother, Will “Sonny” Sampson. Sharing more than what was reported in newspapers about this Native American actor and artist, Norma tells about the real person he was. She shares about the chubby, smiling Indian baby; the little boy who was happy and carefree, growing up in a fast-changing world. Norma shares about the young man who roamed far and wide, always looking over the horizon for his place in the sun. She chronicles Will's life and about how at the end of his life, with his body broken down by his illness, he still tried to do what he could for everybody, regardless of race or color, and most especially for his Indian people. Will Sampson was a full-blood Creek Indian who pulled himself up by his bootstraps, so to speak, and who used his God-given talents to become a famous personality. He was most notably known for his role in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
